Namank — your name number
Your Moolank and Bhagyank come from a date you cannot change. Your Namank comes from the way you spell your name — which means it is the one number in the system that is yours to adjust.
The Chaldean letter values
Each letter carries a value. Add them, reduce to a single digit, and that is the Namank.
The missing number
The table stops at 8. No letter is worth 9. In the Chaldean system 9 is held apart as sacred and is never assigned to a letter — a name can still total 9 once reduced, but no single letter contributes it. That is one of the clearest differences from the Pythagorean system, which spreads 1–9 evenly across the alphabet and produces different numbers for the same name.
Why spelling is the whole point
One name, two spellings, two numbers
These are the same name as most people would say it aloud. They are not the same name to the arithmetic.
One extra letter moved the total by 4 and the Namank from 1 to 5 — a different planet, and a different reading. Two people who say their name identically can hold two different numbers.
It does not always move the digit
Sathish totals 22 and Satheesh totals 31 — different sums, and yet both reduce to 4. A spelling change is not automatically a change of number, which is why the total is printed alongside the digit rather than the digit alone. Anyone promising that respelling your name will move your number has not done the arithmetic.
This is why the calculator asks for your name in Latin letters and never transliterates for you. Converting Sathish to Devanagari and back would hand you someone else’s number without telling you.
